CAUTION!

Kyle & I were sitting in the tax office on post two days ago. We sat there for 3 hours before we got seen. Ugh. I was so annoyed but there was something that I saw on the news that made me start crying....

Some clever person just knew that I would need a good laugh! I was crying I was laughing so hard when I heard this news story.. someone hacked into some road signs and changed them to what you see above. Imagine riding down the road and seeing that! After this sign there were signs that read, Zombies!! RUN!!!

That officially made my day!

I've been a bad, bad girl!

Wow, for being an unemployed college graduate one would think that I had all the time in the world! Not true - well at least lately. I haven't let myself down - I have taken a picture a day but I haven't been around a computer to hook up to and blog about! I will do a little recap .. NOW!

My mom, my best friend Star, and I took a trip down to Walt Disney World to watch my little brother Nick cheerlead @ UCA College Nationals!

Here is our view of the whole competition - we got to the event @ 9 AM to stake our claim to these awesome seats, and we sat there until 11PM waiting for the results! It was a long day!!
It also happened to be my birthday this weekend! So, I celebrated by drinking some wine and doing sweet cheer moves in the hotel lobby.
I also got sang to by my little brother & his friends. Here I am with Nick serenading..uhh...myself...All in all, it was a very fun weekend! Nick was already thinking about changing colleges because Slippery Rock doesn't offer nursing and he was offered a full ride scholarship to the University of Memphis so we will see how this plays out! I am very proud of him!!

In other news, I have been helping Jenna try and find cute bridesmaid dresses. I literally felt like I lived in the dress store for a few days. We went once for about 4 hours, then came back the next day for like an hour, and then again the next day for another hour! Dang!
I look like a heffer in this picture, but this dress is a size 10 so it was big on me! I swear! So this is a dress possibility although it doesn't come in the right shade of green she wants... and shades of green are a whole 'nother story! Right Jenna?? : )

I also made a mock up of the invitations for their couple's stock the bar shower. I am new to this ba-jillion themed showers thing. Its got to be a southern thing. Up north you have a bridal shower and possibly a lingerie shower. Period. End of story. Not in the south. In the south people are obsessed with throwing parties. Themed parties at that. Basket showers, tool shower, kitchen shower, stock the bar shower, engagement party, bbq shower, (enter theme here) shower. ALL KINDS OF SHOWERS! I am helping plan/pay for ONE of these, a stock the bar shower (very fitting that I be throwing this!) Here is what the invites are going to look like:

Cute, eh? I am proud! (and am available for party invites!) hah!

That's all for now, and I promise Aunt Tricia, I will saddle up and get back on this pony!

art smart

I was sick of the way the mirror we had over our bed looked - so I went shopping (in my house) for some new art for over the bed and viola! in the bathroom I found something that looks so good! Sowattayathink?

Slackin'

Well, I missed yesterday partly because I was waiting for these pictures to arrive in my inbox! I went on a 'photoshoot' with Jenna & Jonathan (friends of ours who are getting married in June). Jonathan works with Kyle and Jenna is best friends with one of my best friends here, Star. So it was kind of a big circle of friendship - weird. I took 138 for them - surely we had to get one picture that works for an engagement announcement in their hometown paper. Here's what Jenna picked:

Excuse me while I clean up my drool

Over this::

Kyle and I dream of putting in hardwood floors eventually for a few reasons. Mostly because, 1. our carpet is destroyed and 2. it will make our house a little "better/different" than the other cookie cutters in our 'hood when we try and sell... Well, I was searching on Lumber Liquidators (per a suggestion from my lovely mother) and stumbled upon the above real wood flooring. Obviously we have to consider our funds -- we ain't workin' with a while lotta dough so price per sq. foot plays a HUGE role in our decision. Imagine my surprise when I see this puppy after I search for any flooring under 2.00/sq. ft. and it's REAL WOOD not laminate and it's ONLY .99/sq. foot!!! 99 CENTS!!!! So I quickly grab my tape measure and get a rough estimate. I measure the dining room, living room, and hallway in record time - we need about 525 square feet, so I punch that in, and click add to cart. And I'm hit with a message that says they only have 11 boxes of the stuff (not even enough to cover the living room) UGH! But hey, if you want it, you can get it here!

For now, I will drool over this beauty and keep dreaming! Hopefully we can find a great deal like this again! : )

What am I gonna do???

It's 2:04pm. I sit at my desk (in my pajamas still) at my computer scouring school district websites for potential employment. And I'm sitting here with a STACK of GLOWING reccomendations from my former professors. WHY DOES NO ONE WANT ME???? I applied for four jobs in the last four days. One of which I don't think I would take anyways (Pre-K teacher) one I would maybe take (reading tutor) and one that has been filled already (teacher)... I have a job subbing @ Fort Benning right now but I haven't gotten called yet (granted it's the first week back) and after talking with the HR people @ Columbus' school district I'm not even getting on the sub list for them until late Feb./early March (even though I applied LAST JUNE). I need money now people, not in March! So, here I sit, frustrated as ever.
But, the time I've got now I will miss when I have a real job. I do like hanging out with the dogs and watching courtTV all day. And I didn't expect to get hired in the middle of a school year, but it's still frustrating. I wish I could just come back to Corry and take Aunt Jill's long term sub. That would be AWESOME!

He's a lucky man

This was awaiting Kyle when he got home from work today. On a side note, the cookie is from Wal-mart, they are the best sugar cookies I have ever had and surprise, they are Wal-Mart's brand. I think you should do yourself a favor and go buy a box right now : )

January 3, 2009

If this hot tub were in a family she would be the red-headed step child. She has called many different porches & places home. From Aunt Tricia & Uncle Bob's Key West bungalow to Gram & Pop's snow covered deck to my parent's house where she was used mostly to serve food on she's been passed around and discarded to the next person who wants her. I hope she doesn't feel unwanted though (after 14 years and being passed around who wouldn't?) because she's got a new concrete pad to call home -- MINE!!!!!!!
Welcome home, baby! Can't wait to use and abuse you. (& eventually pass you off)

New Year's Resolution

This year I decided I needed a resolution I could stick with. I don't ever do the 'I want to lose ten pounds thing' or the 'I want to save money' thing (obviously) -- I do the realistic 'I will always change the toilet paper roll when I use it all' thing -- but I can never stick with it!
So, this year in honor of having a camera on me everyday courtesy of my iPhone (thanks, Mom!) I have my resolution:
I will take a picture everyday for the entire year. : )

What shall I do with these 365 (maybe more!) pictures? I shall post them on the internet for family and even complete strangers to see!

..let's hope this is something I can stick with.
