Sew, you think can do it?

The desperate housewife inside me has wanted to take up sewing for a really long time. Ok, well since Christmas when my mother-in-law got a sewing machine. So not that long, but anyways I mentioned this to Jenna at lunch one day and she said that her fiance Jonathan had a sewing machine that he never uses! Perfect! Instead of buying one and hating it I figured I would borrow his and get crackin'...er....sewin'!

Sew far (catch the pun?!) I have done two t-shirts. One for Kyle's cousin's daughter Ella who is just OBSESSED with our dog Lulu....

Her own personal Luella t-shirt!

And I also whipped this up for my cousin Sarah...

I hope they like them!

Welcome to Corry, PA!

I'm here visiting while Kyle is away @ training in Indiana. This is the view of my parent's back yard. It's pretty, but I don't miss it at all!

Funny Stuff

First of all, this video is so funny. I don't know who I got the link from, but thanks because I laughed VERY, VERY, hard & know what little David was feeling since I just had my own trip to the dentist.

Second of all, I want to share this text message conversation with you that I had with Kyle today. I don't like to bother him a lot during the day while he is in training so I sent him a message and asked him what he was up to. This is what follows (word for word):

Alicia: Hey what are you doin?
Kyle: Eating at a local place called Nick's.
Alicia: Did you take out cash today?
Kyle: The cash is for lunch the done usual only takes it.
Alicia: Done usual?
Kyle: No I meant the truck only takes cash.
Alicia: I still don't get it. The truck?
Kyle: yeah a usual brings fond us pizza and other crap.
Alicia: Ok, I'm just stopping because I have no idea what you are talking about.

So, I'm here confused as ever about some usual truck that brings pizza? I mean, that's what I'm getting out of this conversation. Are you? This is reason # 9384962 I hate texting!

Lookin' Good!!

Me so pretty.

No, I didn't have a stroke::: I got numbed. Thanks Dr. Spann, I look so wonderful. I can barely smile without looking like half of my face is falling off. I have never been numbed at the dentist before so it was actually pretty cool. I was so scared (I kept letting them know) they put some sort of numbing gel on my gums and let it sit and then went to town with the needle (which felt weird) but then I was good to go. I'm going to take some Tylenol now and try and drink something. (probably a Diet Coke - which will lead to more of this)

DAYTONA!

Well, it's that time of the year again - NASCAR season! So now, every Sunday I have something to nap to, I mean watch. We have been lucky enough to make it to Atlanta's Motor Speedway a few times in the last few years thanks to Kyle's job and his friend Collin who is now working for Greg Biffle. We have had a lot of fun at the races and hopefully can get to one this year :)

Here's Kyle & Collin when Collin worked for Mark Martin. We got to hang out on top of the Army pit box the whole time - it was really cool. I had lots of fans coming up to me and asking if I was Mark Martin's daughter. I said yes. I don't even think he has a daughter.

We got to go down on victory lane last year - unfortunately Kyle Busch won.

Here's Mark Martin & Jimmie Johnson (they are big deals) riding around the track after being announced to wave to the fans - who is that girl in the back of the truck???
It's ME! and my friend Meghan. Meghan is a big NASCAR fan and when we got these tickets we had one extra and I knew she would just love me forever if I took her. She was in heaven that day! We got to be Chevrolet VIPS thanks to Kyle's work :) Ahh, there are perks to his job(sometimes)
Well, THE GREAT AMERICAN RACE kicks off in 45 minutes and I can't wait. Hopefully Greg Biffle can win it & Collin will get a big fat paycheck! :)

Here's lookin' at you, Brody!

Brody, my long lost high school friend has given me my first 'shoutout' on his blog -- The Blah-g. Thanks Brody, my mother & I will LOVE keeping up with yours. I love reading these things and now I know all about what he has been up to. My grandmother trys to help keep me in the know with my friends back home in Corry (she occasionally mails me newspaper clippings!) and I love reading them. In fact, she mailed me a few about Brody not to long ago!

When I saw that Brody had a blog, it made me think about home. I googled Corry, PA and found something that I know he can surely appreciate. Some of the trendiest threads known to man are manufactured in Corry and I had no clue. They are Cow Chip T-shirts. T-shirts made out of cow poop! Who knew?? They even made it into the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum!!Unbelieveable!
Anyways, thanks again Birdman - and don't forget SOAK EM FOR CRUTCHIE!!!

lulu loungin' on a lawn chair (say that five times fast)

ain't she purdy? I think she looks more like Kyle than Me. : )

February...? Are you still here?

I was just driving to Target this morning around 10 and I happened to notice that it was 70 degrees! Wowza. It's been at least 70 here during the day for the past few. I don't remember it EVER being above 40 in PA without thinking it was a damn heat wave and I needed to wear shorts.

No turnin' back now

I will be happily rocking this sassy number June 20th for J&J's wedding. We got a good deal and it's the perfect shade of green. We paid our deposits - so there is no turning back now!

Hello Sunshine!!

It was a warm 75 here today - we spent the afternoon laying outside
playing with the dogs :) I love the south.

We bought Ava a flower shop for valentines day - I think Kyle is
enjoying it more than she is!
